need to go to bed, really

But I can't resist. I bought this flower today:

It's an ASTERACEAE, and it's called Osteospermum barberae. And yes, because of my Native Plants class I'm actually more comfortable calling it that than I am calling it an African Daisy. Strange how the educational world changes your brain. But it's now living in my backyard, along with other plants that got watered and put into the soil.

It's a quiet night (been a quiet day, too). The cat's currently screaming (well, meowing, but it's loud and strident) to go outside, even though she's not allowed out after dark. I've had zero motivation today, well, besides cooking a fabulous dinner, and can't seem to muster the energy to go to bed. Which will probably be a problem come class time tomorrow. The cat has now moved to sit on top of my homework and simply glare balefully at me. I think that's actually an improvement. I've been surprised she hasn't done her usual 'where's Neil?' meow, but it's me that's missing him more this time. She seems to just want to play outside. A whole lot. What is it about cats that makes them want to roll in the dirt when they're usually so fastidious?

See, these are the kind of thoughts running around in my head. Sadly, I'm not even motivated enough to bludgeon them into some kind of sexy shape. Well, regardless, may you all have a long and lovely fabulous evening tonight and beautiful Friday tomorrow.
