OMG these are all gorgeous. The yellow crayon one just gets to me. Seems so right. Your choice of fonts in all of these is spot on. You have a great eye for these.

thank you so much lady!! I'm totally glad you like these - they have really been great fun to do (and i love that you notice the fonts - i have an obscene number of them, and it's so nice to get to use them in these to try and influence the mood). thank you again - your feedback always makes my day.

Wow. I'm awed. Incredibly well-done. I particularly love the deceptive simplicity of Normal Again and the idea to use pics of younger ASH and Robin Sachs in Choice of Several Deaths.

Kudos!

Thank you so much sweetest! These are definitely labors of love and I'm so glad they show (and it was so much fun, but also *hard* to find pics of the young ASH & RS... but I'm so glad it worked out as well as it did). Thank you again for the awesome feedback!

here's the link for the image (although it doesn't credit either as far as i can tell):

(basically I was google image searching for 'murder of crows' and ended up adding the extra birds to get the effect i wanted).

hope that helps!

Oh yay!! The 'By Any Other Name' poster is very cool. I like the black and white with just a little bit of color. The picture of Giles is great, I don't know the name of that effect, when the picture sort of blends in with the background, but it has a nice stark look to it. It makes me realize how mean I was to Giles in this fic, and I feel a need to go write something fluffy to make it up to him.

These are all wonderful, of course. But my other favorites are An Antique Roman, Different Can Be Good and The Monster Inside. Also, cool to see all the Giles Things together in one poster. It give me a good excuse to go back and re-read it to figure out why you picked the pictures you used. Ethan's expression is so great.

I am extremely graphically impaired, so I'm going to ask a series of very stupid questions. This is how we learn, after all. I believe the way I put the poster you made for Tijuana for Two into my journal would be considered direct linking, right? I put in a link that made the poster appear in my journal. You allow for authors, so that's okay. So I could do the some thing with this poster, too. But it doesn't sound like that's your preference. What is the preferred way to put this lovely poster with my fic?

Thanks again,
Anyjay

Hi lady! I'm so glad you like your 'By Any Other Name' poster! I wanted to go pretty stark and I'm so glad that came across! (and you're welcome to write some fluffy for Giles, although I do think he withstands the not-so-fluffy pretty well too, so whatever the muse suggests...)

And thank you for your totally lovely compliments on the others as well - it's so good to know which ones work better! I was really worried about The Giles Thing one because it felt chaotic, but then again, that fic has so many twists and turns that I couldn't resist... and I hope the panels mostly made sense!

I'm always happy to answer questions! And yours were not stupid at all. Yes, when you posted the T4T image in your journal you were direct linking, and you are absolutely welcome to do the same with this image. I honestly don't have a preferred way of handling this - whatever works for you (and it really really is ok if you direct link and leave it that way, promise). My request that people not direct link is not intended for you, but as a kind of deterrent to other graphic artists or people who reuse graphics. Most often you'll see this disclaimer because the artist hosts their images at a hosting site (photobucket.com, flikr, etc), and those sites have limitations on their bandwith (if you've ever looked at the older posts on an icon / graphics community, you'll see "bandwith exceeded" images instead of the actual images... ). I'm not concerned about about bandwith since I use LJ's pic archives to post artwork I make for specific requests. Instead my request is to kind of implement one layer of control - if someone wants to reuse the graphic or something, (not you (because it's your fic) and i (because i made it), but someone else) they have to go an extra step to download it, instead of outright reposting and claiming it's theirs. It's not a perfect system by any stretch of the imagination, but it works a little bit as a deterrent.

HOpe that makes sense - i've had too much coffee this morning and am apt to blather on a bit.

Thank you for the lovely feedback! And for wanting a second poster - I definitely feel like I'm doing something right to have multiple requests!

Take care,
Kate

When I see your fanart it shocks me, every time, that you're not a professional designer/illustrator, because some of the pieces on here are easily better than the stuff we get sent on CVs/portfolios to the design company I work for.

Genuinely stunning.

*SQUISHES YOU TO ITTY BITTY PIECES* wow. thank you darling. that is seriously an amazing compliment!! Considering I'm no where near as talented as the graphic designers i know (well, ok, many of them are both graphic desiners and also artists of all kinds of different stuff), and i pretty much think of myself as an educated dabbler who can get something that won't make people shudder out there?

thank you.

OMG -- shame on my sorry self! I have totally spaced on sending you a thank you for the movie poster for "Worth the Wait." I really was raised better than that. So anyway -- thank you, very much. It's awesome. :) And it was a total surprise -- made my day, actually!

No problem sweetie! I'm just glad you like how it came out - and since i'm the worlds latest commenter, please forgive me for my belated thank you!

Those posters make me want to rush off and read the all the stories, even the non-Spander ones. They're brilliant. I'd like to use the poster you made for Whichclothes' latest story that I'm archiving at Spander Files if that's okay. I never hotlink and always credit back of course. http://whichclothes.livejournal.com/55202.html
