Instead I give you one (not very good) picture of her fluffy self, taken at some point in the last month or so when I was really trying to document my crap in the living room.
So here she is, back on my LJ and back in my life!! It was only a week or so, but I really missed having her, even if having her means picking up her poop on dog walks and waking up no later than 8 am every day because she needs to go out. Because it also means dog tail wagging, and puppy licks, and tricks for dog treats, and petting and snuggling (well, only a little of that, but still). Like right now she just hopped on the end of my bed. Yep, I love my dog.
because Asha had keys and I didn't trust her.
And I hesitate to write this just because I don't trust Asha not to be a pain in the ass. BUT, she dropped a letter off in the landlord's mailbox saying "I've officially left, here's my key, gimmie my money". Which means *she* put on paper that she's gone.
Which means Me and boy!housmate are changing the locks tomorrow morning.
Which means that we're going to be doing a walk through and signing a proper lease and getting on with our lives.
Asha's parting gift was actually getting a city inspector to come out here, and the landlord IS being cited for a violation - I guess this guest-house-structure was never approved by the city as a rental property. So the landlord will have to jump through the city's hoops ... and I have absolutely no idea what those are.
That being said, while the landlord is going through this process, we will be able to live here because while the property may not be approved by the city, it's certainly not uninhabitable.
So, I've done some sighing in relief tonight. And panting, walking the puppy after a week of doing no exercise (eek!).
Keep your fingers crossed for my landlord on the whole city thing.
