I was, however, awake and fully prepared to answer the 8 am phone call from the fridge delivery guys, so I'll get to spend my morning (11 - 2, gotta love those delivery windows!) over at the new house, playing with books and probably generally being a bit on the tired side. But it's too late to go to bed now!
This week (weekend?) has been momentus... I felt like I squeeked through by the seat of my pants in Japanese, and still am getting a B. And gods I hate the fact that I'm so grades conscious now. Santa Cruz course evaluations didn't ruin me for life, although I kind of wish they had. They did in all of the important ways. I just wish I didn't care about grades. Instead I'm back on that GPA horse, keeping my fingers crossed that I got all my ducks in a row for final papers and final exams.
Oh, and in between some of those things there has been a flurry of packing and a flood of cardboard! We're starting to move! I look around me now and see only about half of the things I saw this time last week - no wine rack, no bookshelves filled with books. All of the fun play toys (including TV) are at the new house, all except our computers. So funny, we moved them on Friday and then realized when we got back to the apartment that we didn't really have anything to do since we'd packed all the books and dvd's and moved the TV. Well, we had our computers to play with, but nothing quite as fun as cuddling up on the couch, snuggling and being mindless after a hard day's work. However, this does give us added incentive to get the rest of the Neil & Kate smorgasboard of THINGS over to the new house, so we can really truly stay there.
And yes, the fireplace is now purple. Someday, when the furniture's all in, I'll take pictures.
Now, however, I'm going to go make myself some more tea, and maybe some toast, and try to regain coherency. It's going to be an interesting project, i think.
